The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) has successfully been accredited as a 'White Ribbon Workplace'.

The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) promotes a culture of zero tolerance towards violence and is an active supporter of the global White Ribbon movement to stand up and speak out to stop violence against women.

Violence against women is driven by gender inequality and disrespect. It can take many forms:

  • physical abuse
  • sexual assault and harassment
  • verbal abuse
  • emotional abuse
  • coercive control.

DTF is committed to a safe, respectful workplace where all women can excel.

In July 2016, White Ribbon Australia announced that DTF was successfully accredited as a 'White Ribbon Workplace', by demonstrating effective leadership, resource allocation, communication, HR policy development and training to create a safer and more respectful workplace.

In July 2021 DTF successfully gained reaccreditation as a White Ribbon Workplace through the Workplace Equality and Respect Project (external link).

While violence against women is prevalent and serious, it is preventable. Together, we can create safer workplaces and communities.
