The Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) acknowledges the First Peoples of South Australia; the Aboriginal Customary Owners and the role that Aboriginal People continue to have in purposefully shaping and caring for the lands on which we come together.
We also recognise the deep and irreversible damage and dislocation that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have experienced and continue to experience, through colonisation, settlement and displacement.
At DTF, we know that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures enrich this nation and we pay our respects to Elders, past and present.
DTF's vision for Reconciliation:
- Our vision for reconciliation is to work together to support and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations based on a foundation of deep respect for their culture and an understanding of our shared histories.
- Our goal is to become a recognised employer of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- We are committed to providing equitable access to employment opportunities as well as ongoing development assistance to increase the capabilities, development and retention of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees.
- We are committed to building, valuing and promoting diversity and inclusiveness across our business, and increasing our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, the oldest continuing culture on the planet.
