Multiple appointments
Expressions of interest are invited from medical practitioners from across the full spectrum of specialisation to be appointed as an Independent Medical Adviser (IMA) and be a part of South Australia’s Return to Work scheme.
The role of an Independent Medical Adviser
It may become apparent during the course of proceedings before SAET that there is uncertainty or disagreement about aspects of a worker’s injury or condition or its consequences. In such cases SAET may refer medical questions to an IMA to assist in the just, timely and efficient resolution of the dispute.
Professional qualifications
Medical professionals appointed as IMAs will possess a high level of relevant expertise including:
- at least five years post-fellowship or twelve years post-graduation experience
- medical practice (minimum of 40 hours per month) including active clinical practice of at least 8 hours per month
- continuing professional development relevant to your specialisation.
How to submit your expression of interest
Your expression of interest must include your completed:
- Expression of interest form
- Your curriculum vitae
- Police check - application form OR evidence of a police check less than 12 months old
- Any relevant supporting evidence
