At the Department of Treasury and Finance, we have a clear role to play when it comes to reconciliation.

We launched our first Innovate RAP in 2018, and our first Stretch RAP in 2023. DTF plays a vital role in providing financial services to the community, and economic policy advice to the Government of South Australia. Through its considerable reach, DTF is well placed to drive reconciliation outcomes across the state.

Our vision for reconciliation is a Department of Treasury and Finance free from discrimination where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples share equally in the future prosperity and wellbeing enjoyed by all South Australians through the work undertaken by the department.

Together with our First Nations employees we can tell the stories of Australia’s past, present and future. We will do this through recognising Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the lands in which we work and live and we will celebrate their cultures and heritage.

We encourage all departmental staff to take positive steps towards reconciliation and dismantling current barriers that First Nations peoples experience.

We are committed to building, valuing and promoting diversity and inclusiveness across Treasury and Finance, and broadening our engagement with other government departments, business and the community, as we increase our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, the oldest continuing culture on the planet.
