The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) leads the SA Government’s technology, cyber security, digital government strategies and policies. We are the central service provider of technology, cyber security services and platforms for SA Government agencies enabling them to deliver critical services.
OCIO is comprised of five functional areas.
Cloud Services
Delivering whole of government cloud-based applications, software, infrastructure, and platforms including identity management services, the Microsoft 365 central tenancy platform, the Integrated Platform as a Service, eFax and SMS, to enhance collaboration, drive innovation and provide economies of scale for SA Government agencies.
Cyber Security
Setting the state’s cyber security agenda and leading SA Government’s cyber security efforts by proactively identifying threats, responding to incidents, promoting best practice and working with agencies to build cyber security capabilities to ensure the security of government’s information and systems.
Visit Security SA
Digital Programs
Providing SA Government agencies with secure, trusted and human-centric digital products and services such as SA.GOV.AU, the mySAGov app, online transactions, digital identity that enhance interactions between individuals, businesses and the government.
Infrastructure and Service Delivery
Providing safe, resilient and reliable ICT network services and environments including the government’s core data network (StateNet), voice services including contact centres, PABX, and Teams Voice services, connecting agencies with both on premise and external services such as internet, Microsoft 365 and cloud service providers. The Across Government ICT Service Desk supports agencies by triaging issues, changes and service requests for OCIO’s services.
Internal Operations and Governance
Providing specialist centralised functions including strategic advice, program governance oversight and reporting, procurement, human resource management, and business communications and engagement.
Control agency for Cyber Crisis and Telecommunications
We also manage the Control Agency for Cyber Crisis and Telecommunications Crisis functions on behalf of the South Australian Government. These functions are established under South Australia’s Emergency Management Arrangements. When a cyber crisis or telecommunications crisis occurs that requires a coordinated government response, we are responsible for the response to the incident and the subsequent recovery effort. Resources from agencies and suppliers are coordinated to minimise disturbance and risk.
