Moving to new banking contracts

The Government of South Australia will be moving its banking services to the Commonwealth Bank and ANZ.

The Commonwealth Bank won the banking tender for transactional banking and merchant facilities for the next five years. ANZ has retained the contracts for purchase cards.

The Department of Finance and Treasury manages the banking contracts on behalf of the Government of South Australia.

The aim of the new banking contracts is to provide the Government of South Australia with cost-effective banking, enhanced features and better options and solutions that will best meet its needs for the future.

In the next months a staged transition is taking place across all government agencies.

Government agencies have been asked to:

  • identify where banking services touch their internal processes
  • consider opportunities to improve processes such as reconciliations
  • consider impact of transition / the overlap on reconciliations
  • work with Project Team and Shared Services to minimise impact.
