The Government of South Australia is committed to making South Australia the best place to do business. We are committed to creating an environment in which businesses can operate competitively in the global economy.
The Simpler Regulation Unit contributes to this through collaboration and consultation with business, stakeholders, the community and government agencies. It achieves this by identifying, exploring and implementing relevant regulatory changes to cut red tape, remove unnecessary burdens and reform regulation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business environment. This in turn supports innovation, new investment and jobs.
All government regulatory activities that impose costs or delays on business are in scope, including legislation, regulations and administrative procedures and guidelines.
Regulatory activities across all levels of government are considered, with the aim of reducing unnecessary overlap or duplication of effort.
Further Information about current regulatory reform initiatives, including the Government's inaugural Simplify Day are available below.
